BACKGROUND + CONCEPT
Zeeks Pizza is a PNW based pizza and beer chain. The task was to completely redesign the UX and UI of the site to emphasize the ’STOKE’ the brand aims to convey, and put more of an emphasis on their wide selection of craft beers.
RESEARCH + PROCESS
COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS
I wanted this analysis to be thorough and specific, as the market is quite competitive. With each section, I included an overview of my findings and a recommendation on the best direction to go. The additional sections I analyzed included menu, locations, and footer.
VISUAL DEVELOPMENT
MOODBOARDS
I created three different mood boards in InVision, and was able to get feedback from the client on the feel and direction they felt best represented the brand and what they were trying to enhance. I presented them with three very different options— one was more dark, sultry, and food-focused, one was focused on the young and adventurous PNW feel of the brand, and the last one was a colorful, friendly vibe that focused on how food and beer brings people together in the great PNW. The client ended selecting the third moodboard, as they felt it best matched the culture and vibe that they wanted to convey with their brand.
CUSTOM TYPEFACE
Our client wanted a typeface that looked handwritten, dynamic, and gestural. Something natural. They ended up liking my handwriting on initial mockups that I had worked on, so I went ahead and created this typeface called “Wisegarver Handwritten” that was used across the website.
FINAL DEVELOPMENT
I custom edited the color of each beer tile so the shade was the exact match of each brew. Each tile flips when hovered on to reveal more details about the beer.
On the bottle shop page, I was given various photos of the beer that had to be individually edited to match each other. Going in by hand, I edited out the background and added shadows underneath each bottle and can so the bottle shop could be brought to life.
